How outcome market settlement works
Find the source, observation window, boundary rule, and exceptional terms.
The listed market's rules state which price source is used, when the observation happens, and what counts as a winning result. Boundary equality, insufficient data, and special settlement may be handled differently across markets.
Read the exact rule document linked from the contract before trading. A general explanation of outcome markets cannot replace the settlement terms for a particular strike and expiry.
Example: a chart is not the settlement rule
Skew's documented Bitcoin weekly market uses a defined final observation window and Pyth BTC/USD source. A chart based on a different reference, such as a Hyperliquid perpetual mark, can help show price history without controlling settlement. The exact contract rules also explain what happens at the strike boundary and if required data is unavailable. Those details may differ across other markets.
What to check next
Before trading, find the market's source, observation window, equality rule, cutoff, and any void or fallback payout. Keep the rule document open next to the live order ticket.
This is a general explanation. The current contract, quote, and settlement rules in the app govern a trade.
